In Vilamoura alone there are five golf courses, all of high quality, with a scenic setting and with the effective preference of the great specialists of the sport.

The potential of the parish of Quarteira attracts tourists from all over the world and in addition to about two dozen hotels and guesthouses, it also has several groups of apartments and a campsite to accommodate all its visitors.

Tourist places of historical and cultural interest are the ruins of Vilamoura (Cerro da Vila), Loulé Velho and Fonte Santa. The people believe, linked to an ancient popular tradition that in recent times has been lost, that healing waters are born from this Fountain. In Quarteira, various social and cultural events take place, such as the Popular Marches during the month of June.

Quarteira is, in fact, one of the most important parishes in the Municipality of Loulé.
