The parish of Vilar de Mouros, bounded by the hills of Góios, Pena, Gávea and Crasto, corresponds to the north arm of the elbow with which the Coura River basin ends. Situated in the geological convergence of a hercínio granite of medium grain with silúrico shale luzente with andalusian crystals and traversed by plymatitic pliatt lodes, it was to these geographical and geological conditions that was largely due to its historical destination.
